Our working time model »4+1« offers free time one day a week for our employees to arrange their personal further education. We did not exactly define what can be understood under further education precisely. On the contrary, we kept that definition intentionally open and gave it to the hands of our employees. Ultimately, we as employer just reserve the right to veto. Though we have never had to make any use of that up until now.
The span of the further education activities is broad and is by no means restricted to our core competence of software development. Certainly, the most of further education activities are organised and carried out here. To name but a few, there are our open source projects and the so called study-groups, in which new technologies are given a chance and are tested on their applicability.
Besides the study-groups, our employees are engaged in writing books and professional articles. Our staff is very active in this area. A circumstance we are keen to encourage, since it emphasizes our expert status. Alone, in the last three years, a string of professional books have been written, some of which have been released in a second edition.
As in every adult evening class we too rank English first. For two years the English classes are organised in-house by our employees. Incidentally, the courses we offered as an employer weren't accepted in the past. Ever since our staff organised itself, the classes work excellently.
We walk on uncommon paths to support you optimally – and therefore got decorated.
