Back School
It is sometimes a cross with the back. 70% of all Germans know that back pain is anything but funny. Even when the entertainer Hape Kerkeling in his role as Horst Schlämmer says (“Ich hab´ Rücken!”, “I have backache!”), suggests something. By now, every fifth visit to the doctor is due to spinal complaints. Triggers are often too little exercise and poor posture or stresses and strains. Particularly at risk are people who sit for many hours a day at a desk.
Therefore, we offer our employees courses in order to prevent back pain.
Exercise specialist Petra Voß shows how muscles are strengthened with the help of stretching and robust exercise. The exercises taught can also be carried out in between office times to quickly ease stresses in the back.
By the way: When the back hurts, besides the correct posture, the layout of the equipment on the work desk should also be checked. For relaxed shoulder and neck muscles, the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Medicine recommends positioning the height of the monitor so that the highest point of the display lies slightly below the horizontal line of sight (up to 35 degrees). Whereas the screen is best placed no less than 50cm from the head, the keyboard should be positioned close to the body. In the correct position, the upper arm and underarm form a right angle.
