Embedded Software Engineering Conference
Abstract
The 2008 Embedded Software Engineering Conference is the first event in German which is devoted solely and deeply to the diverse topics and challenges in the development of device and system software for industrial applications, vehicle electronics, telecommunications and consumer and medical technology.Software development for embedded systems presents a particular challenge for project teams. Nowhere else do so many different aspects of electronics, IT and all other conceivable engineering disciplines intersect. In no other country than Germany are there so many companies that develop embedded software - from small mid-sized companies to large conglomerates.
The significance for the success of the most important export sectors is outstanding. Thus »Elektronikpraxis« and »MicroConsult« are convinced that it is high time to face the facts and create a German information platform.
Wolfgang Neuhaus, managing director of itemis AG and Axel Terfloth, Director of Research and Development hold the compact seminar on the topic of »Model-Driven Development with Eclipse«.

Axel Terfloth, Head of Department for Embedded-Development
Axel Terfloth leads the research and development in the area of embedded development for itemis. He deals with the adaptation and further development of methods and technologies in model-based software development, especially for the development of embedded systems.
Axel Terfloth already has over 15 years of experience as a developer, software architect and project leader, as well as having gathered experience in the fields of project– and product development at various companies. His interests and main focuses are software architectures, model-based software development, the development of frameworks and modelling tools as well as agile development processes. Furthermore he engages himself in open-source-projects.
Axel Terfloth holds a degree in computer science and is a graduate of Dortmund University.
