Abstract

Xtext is a framework for developing own, specialized languages. From a simple grammar definition, Xtext automatically derives the abstract syntax, a rich featured, fully customizable editor based on Eclipse and the infrastructure to process your language files with an interpreter or code generator. In this demo I'’ll develop a small language and emphasize on editor features like code completion, syntax highlighting and navigation. I'll show how to implement customizations for your language and demonstrate some great productivity features. Finally I'll tie the DSL to an exemplary code generator to render some output, thereby demonstrating the benefit of specialized languages  for specific use cases.
