Abstract

On the convention 'Mensch und Computer' (Man and Computer) 2009 in Berlin, Torsten Krohn presents his speech “Lightweight as principle – design of the web application myPIM with UCD, FDD and Xtext”.

In the course of the apparent digital lifestyle, in which the user becomes more and more a participating (co-)designer, the amount of relevant information for the individual will increase in the future.

Given the complexity of the range of information in the World-Wide-Web, the question arouses, how useful information can be found and recovered. In this article the conception of a social bookmarking service is presented, which particularly supports the requirements of users in the research and teaching/learning context.

In the combined approach on the basis of crossed UCD and FDD processes, the core system and modules are realized flexibly against changes. Here the adoption of the lightweight framework Xtext for domain-specific languages is of great interest.
