itemis founds new Scrum-community
Agile project-management is gaining ground in software development: since its founding in 2003, itemis AG set a high standard in this field, and is still increasing its commitment to it.
For the coming month the Lünen-based IT-Consulting company plans several top-class events, including a workshop called »Scrum-Kompakt« on October 29th with Scrum-pioneer Joseph Pelrine and a certification-training (»Certified Scrum Master«) on November 10th and 11th in Dortmund. Additionally itemis now founded the »Scrumtisch Rhein/Ruhr«, a forum for socializing and experience exchange for for all those interested in NRW.
The first meeting of the new community will be held on August 31st at 6:30pm in the Bonner Konferenzhotel.
Put together, the Certified Scrum Masters and Certified Scrum Practitioners of itemis AG have over 50 years of Scrum experience, even though this method, which is widely used in the USA, has been applied in Europe for only a couple of years. “The demand for Scrum services has grown considerably over here,” itemis' Sebastian Neus reports. Neus sees great advantages in using this agile method. Therefore the experts from the three NRW-based itemis locations in Bonn, Düsseldorf-Hilden and Lünen not only support other companies' software projects with Scrum, but also actively commit themselves to the faster spreading of this agile management process.
With the »Scrumtisch Rhein/Ruhr« itemis offers the Scrum-community the opportunity of a regular exchange of ideas and for making contacts. Additionally, once in a while renowned experts report on new developments and on practical experiences during these meetings. In the premier event on August 31st in Bonn (see above), Sebastian Neus and Dr. Martin Wrangel hold a presentation called »From Businessneed to valuable Productbacklog« which shows methods that have proven themselves in a Scrum project that lasted several years.
itemis Workshops with Scrum-pioneer Perline
In the second half of the year, several more highlights are marked in the event schedule of itemis AG with its extensive Scrum portfolio: attendees will learn “the truth about Scrum” during the event of the same name on Octorber 8th in Dortmund. Everything worth knowing about Scrum will be presented on October 29th in Düsseldorf by a real luminary. The Swiss Joseph Pelrine, pioneer and mastermind in the field of agile software development methods, presents the workshop »Scrum Kompakt«. For only 99 Euros the attendees can gain an overview of how Scrum supports the development process, and this in just four hours.
The two days certification training on November 10th and 11th in Dortmund imparts practical knowledge of the Scrum process on software developers, project leaders and IT managers. Completion of this seminar entitles the attendee to call himself »Certified Scrum Master« of the Scrum Alliance. Furthermore, on December 10th and 11th a base training will be held in Dortmund, where the applicability of Scrum is shown on the example of some select projects.
The Scrum Day on December 1st and 2nd in Düsseldorf, which itemis organizes together with the company HLMC, offers a communication platform for everything regarding practical Scrum. On the first day there are several workshops visitors can attend. The second day is marked by many lectures. Additionally companies present services and products regarding Scrum.
