If you are selected you will work on the conception, implementation and evaluation of either a process for continuous user support in the creation of graphical simulation models, or a method for intuitively querying and analyzing development data in a DFG/BMBF cooperation project. Both projects pursue the overall goal of supporting software and systems development projects and increasing their quality.

The positions are remunerated according to TV-L E13 and can be full-time or part-time. The opportunity for a doctorate is offered and intensively supported by itemis.

Aspects of activity include:

  • Machine learning and pattern recognition techniques for the analysis of development activities
  • Query and analysis of various development data (requirements, code, models, tests, etc.)
  • The conception of proposal systems (Recommender) for the simplification of development tasks
  • Graphical and textual query languages for analysis of development data
  • Development of modelling techniques
  • Planning and conduct of experiments to evaluate developed techniques
  • The conception and implementation of demonstrators for developed procedures
  • The preparation of scientific publications and project documentation
  • Support for students and interns

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Media Informatics or a comparable area, plus good knowledge in the field of software development or software engineering
  • Knowledge of machine learning and pattern recognition techniques
  • Cooperation and team ability, plus a willingness to communicate and organize
  • Good to very good English

Knowledge of development tools such as IDEs, UML and requirements tools are advantageous, as are good programming skills and relevant experience.
